How 1 Million Cups of Coffee Perks Up IT

Amy Pietsch will share information about how the FVTC Venture Center works with startups and small businesses, providing education, training and networking to help them launch and grow their businesses. Last year the FVTC Venture Center applied to the Kauffman Foundation’s 1 Million Cups initiative to have Appleton become a 1 Million Cups city. Not quite six months into the events, 1 Million Cups is helping the entrepreneur community learn, engage and connect.

Biography:Amy Pietsch

During the last fifteen years Amy has been an entrepreneur and intrapreneur and currently serves as the Director of the Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College. During her career, titles of Coordinator, Director and Owner have come and gone from her business card. Through it all she has been working with entrepreneurs, small business owners, community and business leaders to launch and grow sustainable enterprises. From part-time, home-based, business owners to traditional small business owners to multi-million dollar entrepreneurial firms, Amy has helped them define their business model, develop strategic, marketing and business plans and access alternative, traditional, angel, VC and peer-to-peer financing.  During November 2013 Amy traveled to San Francisco to receive certification in Business Model Design from the authors of Business Model Generation and in May 2013 Amy earned her MBA, with a focus on innovation leadership, from Alverno College, in Milwaukee.
