Hi Everyone!
The kids are back in school, summer vacations are over and it is time for the membership of CompTIA’s Northeastern Wisconsin chapter to resume our 2017 schedule! Welcome back! First, let’s look at September’s meeting line-up!
On Tuesday, September 19th, we’ll learn about some really cool things you can do in Office 365 and Azure from SECURA Insurance’s Mike Nelson. The meeting will be held at World Headquarters in Appleton with registration beginning 5:00pm. For more details, visit the blog post or visit the registration page to register. And on Thursday, September 28th, join NEW AITP as we host our second annual Technology Hub Conference at the Appleton Paper Valley. NEW AITP, partnering with Wisconsin Women in Technology, the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of IIBA, Amplify Oshkosh and the Appleton Power Shell Users Group will be providing a fantastic keynote, a security panel breakfast, business expo, breakout sessions, speakers, sponsors and breakfast/lunch for those who register. And the cost of the one day event is hard to beat! For details, please check out both of these meeting events in our newsletter or at their respective web sites.
Our Technology Hub Conference 2017 will also be the meeting place for the CompTIA AITP Region 5 Fall Meeting, to be held from 1:00pm to 3:00pm on Thursday, September 28th. Many chapter leaders from Region 5 will be in attendance to conduct Region 5 business. All AITP members are invited to attend!
Summer of 2017 saw the announcement of the new CompTIA AITP organization. In October of 2016, AITP transferred management and administrative control to CompTIA in the hopes of growing new membership and adding further value to AITP. CompTIA has completed the initial rollout of the new website along with a new organizational structure and made the announcement in late July 2017. Changes are still ongoing and more organizational changes will take place in the near future. All members of AITP should have received an email with information on the change and instructions on accessing your user account plus the new web site, where you can join and renew your membership and access your CompTIA AITP benefits. We’re looking forward to the future as an integral part of CompTIA AITP.
The CompTIA NEW AITP Chapter Election 2018 is right around the corner! If you are interested in becoming a board member, where you can develop and utilize your leadership skills, please contact our Vice President, Chris Nimmer, or a current board member, as soon as possible. You need to be an AITP member and NEW chapter member in good standing and have a bio with picture handy to be a candidate! With a new organizational structure and oversight, it is sure to be an exciting time to be a leader in our NEW AITP chapter!
I hope everyone had a great summer. Now let’s look forward to having a great fall! I strongly urge you to please join us for these events, participate in your group and help your board to continue to have the NEW AITP chapter be the Network That Supports You!
See you soon!
–Jay Esty, NEW AITP President 2016-2017–
